Episode 1 - Inaugural episode of I’M STILL HERE!
In our inaugural episode, we get to know our hosts. Last year, after birthing a baby and selling a novel in the same day, Mary finally started to understand why Kate, mother of two, kept falling asleep during their writing group. We launch the podcast by asking each other the kinds of questions we'll be asking our guests—about creative drive, inspiration, finding time, and making a life with and around kids.
Episode 2 - Guest: Gregg Lachow, Filmmaker
In this episode, filmmaker Gregg Lachow talks about the limitless possibilities of film, decades of collaborating with his kids, and how even the pronunciation of his last name is a creative project within his family.
Episode 3 - Guest: Sofija Stefanovic, Writer
In this episode, writer Sofija Stefanovic talks about missing her son’s first steps while on a plane to Indonesia, how the fuzzy brain state of new parenthood is inspiring her writing, and her brilliant co-working set up at the local YMCA.
Episode 4 - Guest: Elena Delgado, Aerialist
In this episode, aerialist Elena Delgado talks about the anxieties of pregnancy as a physical artist, sewing her own maternity clothes, and getting back—or rather, upside down—in silks post-childbirth.
Episode 5 - After Elena
In this episode, we do something a little different—Mary and Kate dive deeper into some of the stuff that came up in our interview with aerialist Elena Delgado. We talk about surprise run-ins in the shower, infant chiropractors, and why we only work out in black running tights.
Episode 6 - Guest: Carolyn Castiglia, Comedian
In this episode, comedian Carolyn Castiglia talks with us about our collective vulnerability to Instagram targeted ads, moving herself and her baby in with her mother after divorce, and whether her teenage daughter should run for office.
Episode 7 - Guest: Christian Maychack, Sculptor
In this episode, sculptor Christian Maychack talks about breaking his brain and what brought him back, creating a body of work during toddler naps, and the cassettes about girls and comic books that he recorded for his long-distance best friend.
Episode 8 - Guest: Glennis McCarthy, Voice Artist, Comedian and Nail Artist
In our final episode of Season 1, voice artist, comedian, and nail artist Glennis McCarthy talks to us about her ability to make anything in life a musical, hitting bottom, and the entrepreneurial undertaking that led Kate to call her a “dance madame.”
